Treeleaf Sangha, 2026 Jukai Ceremony

The time for our annual Jukai – undertaking of the Bodhisattva precepts – ceremony is here! After months of diligent preparation, study, and sewing, our Jukai aspirant will finally be able to commit to the precepts and receive their rakusu and Dharma names, this coming Sunday, January 18th, 2026.
The ceremony will be held live on Zoom, and we will have a family of Preceptors, formed by Revs. Kokuu, Kotei, Onkai, and Jundo Roshi. They will function as the hands and voices of each other, a real team effort!
About 20 minutes before the scheduled ceremony start time, the Zoom room will open for the participants. As Zoom is a “two-way” system, the Preceptors will see and hear you, and you will see and hear them.
ATTENTION: We will have two Zoom rooms available, one for first-time jukaiees and another for those who are renewing their Vows, attending informally, or coming as witnesses. Please ensure you go to the correct room, as we reserve the main room for our first-time recipients.
We are asking that all our new Jukaiees come into the Zoom room with a camera and microphone, if possible.
