At the beginning of every month, usually on the first Friday/Saturday, the sangha gathers for a 3-hour practice period, led by our teacher and Treeleaf founder, Roshi Jundo Cohen.
The format of the meeting is as follows:
20’ Ceremony (Hannya Shingyo, Sandokai)
30’ Zazen
10’ Kinhin
30′ Zazen
10′ inhin40’ Dharma Talk and Discussion
5’ Stretching time
30’ Zazen and Metta verses
5’ Verse of Atonement, Four Vows and Closing
This zazen meeting is recorded and streamed live on YouTube and is open to everyone to join live or to sit at any time after the event. The monthly zazenkai usually follows a topic selected in advance by our teacher and includes a long format Dharma talk with a brief Q&A at the end, and we include a few moments of stretching the legs.
The Dharma talks given during the monthly zazenkai are also available as a podcast on all streaming platforms
