    Thank you Shokai!

It has been real hard to go out photographing due to the Corona situation and I got lucky with catching the sunrise at the right moment. No editing was necessary as I focused directly on the sun and the camera created the contrast. I also was able to capture the image with a cell phone. It is said that the best camera is the one you have with you when the opportunity arises.

    Beautiful backyard Jishin.
My former partner's mother used to use cow horns to grow seedlings from, believing them to have especially good fertilising properties. Is this the same reason people collect Elk antlers?

    Photos that aren't Zen

Not Zen or Zen it's Zen to me. Apologies for quality, I shake a lot because of some meds I take so this was taken on my phone resting as best I could on a snake stick between two bars inside a cattle crush.

    For consideration:

Photos submitted generally are of 2 categories, artistic and some are more personal in nature.

The artistic ones should be placed in the art forum but placing the ones with personal content there may take away from the opportunity for members to make a better connection with each other (the photos would be harder to find) and this point is made all the time by asking members to put a picture of themselves in the avatar.

I often say to my patients: if it ain't broken, don't fix it; don't fix it till is broken; what gets you well keeps you well (the current forum format)...

This request comes from me so others need not feel that individually they had a specific impact on revoking my posting privileges for a time.

An evaluation as to whether posting privileges should be restored can be made at a different time. In the meantime I would just participate as a guest or other form where I can not post.

IMHO everyone has their own way of expressing things. I specialise in verbosity with politics sneaking in at times. When I go too far the Sangha Police i.e. Jundo pulls me aside (regularly) and gives me a gentle kick up the arse. I would hate for anyone to have posting privileges revoked or be censored unless they are incapable of adhering to basic guidelines for Sangha conduct.

PS - And I would add what I noted in our new "Welcome" to new folks message yesterday ...

The only 'rule' on the Forum, besides "Just Sitting" Zazen each day, is to be kind to each other and mutually maintain “gentle speech” in all communication, even when voices disagree on hot issues. Perhaps more than anything, this allows a warm, welcoming atmosphere for new and old, where people can open up without fear.

May be low energy for a bit. Views from Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. I am very slow, but my family helped and got me up here. We saw one hawk , but it was worth it for me to do this. Recovery time for now.

Some years ago, I could have handled this on my own. Life happens, health changes.

Learned it's also where my dad was team commander of his civil air patrol unit "way back when" during biannual survival trainings .... that was really special to learn. Made it even more meaningful for me.

Many years ago I used to regularly climb the Glasshouse Mountains a couple of hours away from here. Climbing barefoot in the dark to watch sunrise was really special. Years later I worked with an Aboriginal bloke who was an Elder of the area. He told me that they were sacred to his people so although still popular with climbers it was a no brainer for me to never climb them again.

Hospital workers protesting for a wage adjustment. It seems someone is always on strike here in Brazil. The postal workers strike almost yearly. In fact I think they're on strike right now. The bank tellers also strike every couple of years. Truckers are another group, but theirs are wildcat strikes.
