    Sangha fun: 7PM November 28

Well, the invitation was kind of informal – who took pictures anyway? It's well past seven in my part of the world and you get to see – pretty boring – a blanket und my current reading since I'm staying in bed for the rest of the week with a nasty cold.

    Regards, Mensch

Haha Dirk, you should get a laugh out of this photo (not mine, I found it on a Lolcats site). My 1st picture really was taken by me though, outside the Chinese temple right before my 7pm meditation class.

    Hi Mensch

I'm reading that book ("Each Moment is the Universe")! How are you finding it? At present, for me, each moment is not very easy going.

    Hi Martin,

I've only just finished chapter 11 on emptiness, thus it's way too early to say anything of value. Of course a compilation of talks always lacks a bit of the flow and consistency you'd expect from a textbook.

I became interested in the topic of time lately as I seemed to get a firmer grip on shunyata, realizing that painful judgments and desires not only depend on ideas of good vs. bad, self vs. rest of world but particularly on time: present vs. past and future. Time is the stage for our drama of hopes and regrets, of perceived age, decay and death. Without ideas of time everything is just brand new – always.

And so on, blah... nothing new. Really, I think Katagiri's book is very helpful to me. But I haven't touched the part on Karma yet

    Gassho,

I thought I'd heard that the shishi were "lion-dogs" :? Not that I know what that is.

    I think they're hella cute!
