January 20th-21st Treeleaf Weekly Zazenkai - HAPPY (Lunar) NEW YEAR!!

Plum Blossoms Already Blooming, Here in Ibaraki

Master Dogen's New Year’s Dharma Hall Discourse [1242]
As the heavenly sky is vacant and clear, oneness attains oneness and is
undefiled. The earth is covered with nourishing moisture, penetrating a
thousand and soaking ten thousand. How is it right at this time?
After a pause Dogen said: News of spring spreads harmony and the
entire world is fragrant. The deity of spring sits immovably in the cloud
monks’ hall. On each branch flowers bloom with coral color. The blossoms
of the world open, and this is a heavenly realm.

New Year’s Dharma Hall Discourse [1249]
On this great auspicious New Year’s morning, patch-robed monks in
zazen engage the way peacefully. Everyone has a smiling face with the
color of spring. Buddhas’ eating bowls appear, and the plum song is heard
amid the thousand snowy peaks. The mind of the son of Xie is satisfied
    on his fishing boat.

Chant Book is here for those who wish to join in: CHANT BOOK LINK

The other video I mention on Zendo decorum is this one, from our "Always Beginners" video Series:

I also recommend a little Talk on why small rituals and procedures are so cherished in the Zendo:

Being a novice priest doesn't mean that my writing about the Dharma is more substantial than yours. Actually, it might well be the other way round.

Lovely! Belated Happy Lunar New Year to everyone!

Feel free to message me if you wish to talk about issues around practicing with physical limitations. This is something I have been sitting with for a fair while and am happy to help with suggestions or just offer a listening ear.
