Thread: A Pad for sitting and zoom.

A Pad for sitting and zoom.

I may need to update my comms in anticipation of Jukai.
Is anyone using a Pad for online sitting?
    Can a Pad handle zoom?
I am thinking a Samsung refurbished one. What sort of spec should I be looking for?

Hi! I know of a few people using tablets for Treeleaf and it seems to be a good choice. I don’t know the specifics of what each tablet can do, but Zoom is available for those devices, so it should work just fine. I think what you might want to consider is how much you’d like to see on your screen when you choose the size of the tablet.

By “pad” I assume you mean an iPad or android tablet…..

Yes I use my iPad all the time with Treeleaf and other Zooming opportunities. It works well

Screen real estate is the biggest issue. You can’t see as many people as you can on a PC screen.

I use my smart phone. It's a little frustrating because everything is small, but it does work. I have an old Android tablet kicking around here that I've been meaning to dig out and set up but I haven't yet.

I was using an old iPhone 6 until recently, so I think any tablet these days should work.

Any iPhone or iPad will work; I don't know much about Android tablets, but any recent one should work as well.

iPads seem to be preferred locally but I have noticed that the ones in use seemingly cannot "use natural sound" and so automatically attenuate mixed bells and chants. Other than that, an outstanding choice.

I think I set mine up the other way and there is a way to adjust that and turn on “original sound” if I’m not entirely mistaken. I’d have to check!

I'm using a ten-year-old ipad and it works just as smooth as can be. I just have to give myself extra time to get signed in because it's pretty slow.

In truth zoom will run on pretty much anything - including ancient ipads, Linux operating systems, old android phones, &cetera.

    Thanks again everyone.
I don't know what a lot of the tech stuff means but the general consensus is that a tablet will do.
