Unread posts link not working

I use the unread posts link to view what’s new in the forum when I’m on my Mac. It’s currently showing no unread posts. Also, in Tapatalk, when I look for unread posts, it doesn’t show anything.

Hey there!

To clarify, are you referring to the new posts link at https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/sear...e=vBForum_Post or a different link?

If different, can you toss it here? I’m not seeing issues with that on my end so I’d like to be sure we’re on the same page.

I am not seeing any issues on any of my devices. I use this feature as my primary entry point to TreeLeaf including noticing this thread

That’s an odd search link that also pulls nothing up for me. Are you getting that from the New Posts link in the top-left of the forum or is that a bookmark?

I got that link ages ago, and saved it as a favorite in Safari. I see there's another New Posts link; I'll update my favorite. Perhaps there was a vbulletin update that changed something?

If you click the new link posts link on the main page you will get a link that looks like this in the address bar:

https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/search.php?searchid=1414365

The search id is related to the current content at Treeleaf at the time the search for new posts is run.

If you save that link (bookmark it etc.) and click on the bookmark it will always show new links back in time, (or a blank page if it is old enough) because the id is referring to a search that is no longer relevant.

If you look at the actual link for the link at the top of the page it is.

https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post

If you save that link (as a bookmark or whatever), it will show you new links.

link, so the one with the number string was throwing me off as I’ve never seen it. Good to know!

No worries, the one with the number shows up in the address bar after you click the new posts link. So if you say bookmark at that point it saves the number link, not correct link.

I know this because I did exactly that - saved the number link. So for a couple of months I would get the no new posts since your last visit message - just ignore it - and click on the new posts link. Took me a bit to figure it out.
