    About Jouman-ji

    Hi

I talked last week at weekly Zazenkai.

I talked about my practice,I was at Jouman-ji for 6 years ago.

    Master Keizan's 1st temple Joumanji,have gread tradition.

And I really big respect to head monk Koya Tamura.

I learned lots of things from him.

I try to share video about Jouman-ji.

In Japanese, but you can see so beautiful temple,I think.

I try to write about practice at Jouman-ji,later.

And again,I try to share Koya's English talk later.

English talk from head monk Koya

My heart is always with him.

And I was big influenced by him,so my talk is like him I think.

Buddhism is normally teached from teacher to student.

    And student become teacher.

This is the way of Soto style.I respect this style.

He can speak English well,so many people from overseas to practice at there.

I also practice Antaiji.Zen is all around world.

Prapare to write Bad monk Kakunen in Japan.

    Hi

I will write detail after, but I try to prepare to write book.

    BAD MONK KAKUNEN in JAPAN.

I share video of Hossen-shiki(Dharma combat) in Tosho-ji,at past time.
    (Somebody uploaded)
    I wanted to do Hossen-shiki at Jouman-ji or Tosho-ji.
    (As I talked 1st April Zazen-kai)

This video is kind of real Hossen-shiki.When I was at Tosho-ji,nobody
knows meaning of Hossen-shiki.But in this video Shuso(1st place of
trainee monk do lots of mistake in her motion.About 14min at video
she drop important stick at floor, this is so big mistake at Japan.

    But I need think,meaning of Hossen-shiki.

I am Japanese, but in Japan I sometimes treat as strange monk.
Because I like to sit Zazen for peace. But lots of monks in Japan,do not sit Zazen.

So..?in Japanese,I can not almost find real place for practice.

    But Tosho-ji and Jouman-ji is good temple.Also I practiced good temple,I feel.
    (When I was at Tosho-ji 2021,because of Covid,western monk is not there(Almost)

Like that, for me lots of case difficult to be accepted at Japanese temple.

So I went to lots of temple to find my main teacher.

I went to there,in all temples I practice with western.

Some Japanese monks is good monk. But I was refused at lots of temples.

But for me very possitive to do journey with such experiences.

I do not decide to write book, because in Japanese lots of temple feel
    kind of criticism for them.

I try to think about theme at here,if you allow.

I have possibility to delete this page, because sometimes like this is
    very dangerous for me.

"Bad monk" is actually often a good monk who, in his or her humanity and imperfection, can never be a perfect monk, can never meet all the high standards of a story-book monk, sometimes trips and stumbles and acts too human ... but is thus an excellent monk as a result. Many of the greatest teachers like Kodo Sawaki were such "bad monks."

We Buddhists try not to speak about "Bad people," but rather, about sentient beings who, because of the disease of Greed, Anger and Ignorance, sometimes act badly.

Also, there is a difference between a "Bad Monk" who maybe oversleeps sometimes for a Ceremony, has a beer too many, spills pasta sauce on his Kesa ... and one who pillages, commits bank robberies and sets arson fires. The former is a "bad monk" who we can foregive as human ... the latter should not be a monk at all, but maybe in prison.
