PS - There is no "wrong" or "right" in Zazen ... yet here is a little explanation of the "right" times to Bow (A Koan) ...

Chant Book is here for those who wish to join in: CHANT BOOK LINK

The other video I mention on Zendo decorum is this one, from our "Always Beginners" video Series:

I also recommend a little Talk on why small rituals and procedures are so cherished in the Zendo:

It was lovely. As in Germany it was 2 am, I sat with you later on YouTube. With an unexpected stiff neck (who expects it anyway?) and frozen shoulder, it was logistically interesting to "sit", but I guess the sleeping Buddha would have agreed with my choice of posture.

Stiffness of neck continues, but the mind is fluid.

Thank you all for your practice. Thank you Jakuden for your beautiful chanting and thank you Jundo for your talk with important reminders. I sat with you tonight. I have been having a major problem with my internet connection for a few days. So I started the video, then I sat and like a cosmic joke, the video stopped after just a few seconds and I did not realized it. And I thought it is a bad day for me and I'm not able to calm my mind ("Please, someone ring the bell..."). And I used the timer in the second sitting to refrain that kind of situation. Well, I hope that still counts as sitting with you.

Yes, you were here and we were there.

Imagine the old days of Master Dogen, "Sorry, I wanted to sit with you today, but the road washed out in a flood and the Samurai were checking travel papers. A cosmic joke."

I may have made a mistake regarding the starting time and I missed the Zazenkai on Friday so I just finished sitting with this video.

Thank you to Jundo, Jakuden, Sekishi, and everyone else for this wonderful Zazenkai.

I've discovered one more great thing about having an online Zendo, it minimizes the drama of cosmic jokes . Internet problems, instead of floods and Samurai.

(Note: Half an hour ago, by the grace of Buddhas of the past, present, and future, Technical-Service-Personnel-Bodhisattva came and destroyed the effects of the cosmic joke with his supreme understanding and heavenly tools.)

Being a novice priest doesn't mean my writing about the Dharma is more substantial than yours. Actually, it might well be the other way round.
