PS - There is no "wrong" or "right" in Zazen ... yet here is a little explanation of the "right" times to Bow (A Koan) ...

Just finished a four hour car ride home to visit family, so I will probably have to catch this one through spacetime.
But spending time with family, is too, practice.
Looking forward to seeing you again.

I sat with you all this morning

Before sitting, I was reading from How to Cook Your Life, commentary by Kosho Uchiyama Roshi on Dogen's Tenzo Kyokun. The passage I read returned to me during Jundo's talk on wearing masks, and felt relevant. The words below are Uchiyama Roshi.

On hearing that it is only natural for a violet to bloom as a violet and a rose as a rose, some people immediately begin to wonder about whether they are a rose or a violet. Since life is always potential, whether you are a violet or a rose simply is not something that is fixed, not is it necessary to figure out. What is vital here is that you give expression to the flower of your Self, the flower of here and now, and allow it to blossom as completely and naturally as it can in every moment of your life. That flower of your Self, that flower of here and now, is your life! (p. 66)

    From the "person" wikipedia page:
Persona (Latin) or prosopon (πρόσωπον; Greek).
The Latin word persona was originally used to denote the mask worn by an actor. From this, it was applied to the role he assumed, and, finally, to any character on the stage of life, to any individual.

    Thank you everyone.
    Gassho,

Being a novice priest doesn't mean my writing about the Dharma is more substantial than yours. Actually, it might well be the other way round.

Lovely Zazenkai, it seemed the birds around the Zendo wanted to be on the Halloween theme. Was lovely to sit with the ornithological soundscape.
    Thank you everyone.

To be entirely clear, I am not a hōkan = 幇間 = taikomochi = geisha, but I do wonder if my preceptor was having a bit of fun with me...
