June 25th-26th Treeleaf Weekly Zazenkai - "QUARANTINE!" Zazenkai

Please join Zazenkai live from QUARANTINE!, as I am held in forced confinement as a prisoner of the Japanese Government!

For those too young to remember, the above is from the start of the 3 week quarantine on return of the Apollo 11 astronauts.

    Dear All,

Please sit our Treeleaf Zazenkai for 90 minutes with Zazen, Heart Sutra and more:

10am Japan Saturday morning, NY 9pm, LA 6pm Friday night, London 2am and Paris 3am Saturday morning, or any time thereafter here:

However, "one way" live sitters are encouraged to come into the Zoom sitting, and just leave the camera and microphone turned off: Join live (with or without a camera & microphone) on Zoom at: TREELEAF Now OR at DIRECT ZOOM LINK, password (if needed): dogen

00:00 – 00:15 CEREMONY (HEART SUTRA in English) and Dedication
    00:15 – 00:45 ZAZEN
    00:45 – 00:55 KINHIN
    00:55 – 01:25 ZAZEN
    01:25 – 01:30 VERSE OF ATONEMENT & FOUR VOWS
01:30 - 01:45(?) Informal Tea Time (All Welcome)

    Gassho, Jundo

    SatTodayLah

PS - There is no "wrong" or "right" in Zazen ... yet here is a little explanation of the "right" times to Bow (A Koan) ...

Chant Book is here for those who wish to join in: CHANT BOOK LINK

The other video I mention on Zendo decorum is this one, from our "Always Beginners" video Series:

I also recommend a little Talk on why small rituals and procedures are so cherished in the Zendo:

He/him. As a novice priest-in-training, this is simply an expression of my opinion. Please take it with a grain of salt.

Thank you Jundo, Sekishi and everyone, sat one way as was expecting an important phone call myself! And even heard part of the tea party lol. So tickled to hear about Leon in Virginia and a little jealous of Jundo in his hostage situation.

I am a novice priest. Any resemblance my posts may have to actual teachings about the Dharma, living or dead, is purely coincidental (and just my attempt to be helpful).

Thank you everyone. I sat with you this morning. Seeing Jundo sitting there in a hotel room made me really appreciate Treeleaf. This Sangha is truly available pretty much everywhere. No need to seek out a temple or just the right moment. The right moment and right place are when and where you choose to practice.

Thank you, Jundo, Sekishi, and everyone. I sat with this today, as I went to bed early last night. Especially enjoyed the talk with the antibody metaphor.

Yes, I agree with Ryan, very well said Tairin. Treeleaf supports numerous right moments and right places.

Could not agree more. As someone once said in these parts, the world is our temple.

    Completed this morning on demand.

Oh yes, the (in)famous blanket-zafu... I still receive thankful messages from the spanish speaking world, where Kyonin distributed it.

Being a novice priest doesn't mean that my writing about the Dharma is more substantial than yours. Actually, it might well be the other way round.

Feel free to message me if you wish to talk about issues around practicing with physical limitations. This is something I have been sitting with for a fair while and am happy to help with suggestions or just offer a listening ear.
