Please Suggest Times/Days for Additional Tea Houses

    Hello ......

I'm looking to host a Chamomile Tea House.

I'm in New York's Eastern Standard Time Zone:

    New York: 2:00 PM
    London: 7:00 PM
    Seoul: 3:00 AM
    Istanbul: 9:00 PM
    Riyadh: 9:00 PM
    Tokyo: 3:00AM
    Beijing: 2:00 AM

This list is based on the World Clock on my phone, and these are the cities I am most often in contact with (that the World clock has available, it doesn't recognize all cities).

I've been advised to perhaps host a Tea House during the week. I am mostly available after 1pm EST now. I was thinking twice a month or once a month, but I am requesting feedback on when people can come.

What are your thoughts? Days/evenings? Times? Frequency? I'm open to suggestions, thank you.

Meian, you beat me to it!

I've also been talking with the Admins about hosting a tea house for the North and South American time zones, but I was looking at every other Sunday, possibly around noon Eastern (New York) Time. My thinking is that time would allow for folks to join from coast to coast across both continents, but I'm certainly open to adjusting the time if needed. Perhaps having two different options (weekday and weekend) will give folks a greater chance of participating? I'm certainly up for participating in both.

Oh, and I like your idea of the "Chamomile" Tea House. If I can borrow your naming concept, perhaps we can call the weekend tea house the "Matcha Tea House"?

Anyway, I'm also very interested to see what the interest level is among the Sangha. Based on that, we can likely figure out a schedule for both tea houses that works for a majority of folks. If there isn't enough interest to support two, then perhaps we could co-host one? I don't want to hijack your plans though. I'm simply looking for additional ways to get to know everyone while also helping to minimize some of the "chit-chat" here on the forum.

    Hi Rob,

Sunday Noon-ish or afternoon would actually be a lot easier for me (weekdays get chaotic due to freelancing and kids' schedules), but I know there are a couple scheduled on the weekend already? However, if there is interest -- and I think our continents are not covered (as you say) -- then that works for me.

    Bi-weekly is fine.

Plans ..... I don't have Tea House plans! Was just tossing it out there, but Sunday generally works out fine for me. I don't do much chit-chatting but I'm fine with co-hosting, no problem.

I'm also not attached to the name "Chamomile" -- was just getting the ball rolling and initially chose Dandelion, then changed it 8D The only thing I do have a preference on is that it would be nice to have it on the weekend, if possible. I'm in a weird position with work, and still sorting out the details on what's happening when. I'm hoping to hear from people if anyone has a preference for weekends or weekdays.

I was just tossing ideas, and I like yours better

Yay! Those times any day of the week suit me. It will be 4am where we live which is around the time I normally get up anyway. Chamomile or Dandelion are both great names. I look forward to popping in.

Onka, thank you, that is good to know. I get up at 4am also, but on the other side of the world. Have to figure that one out ...... 14 hours ahead?

Maybe two Tea Houses, then ....? I put down 2pm because it was 2pm EST when I looked at the World Clock and wrote the post, not for the time I was picking, but will bear that in mind also.

Maybe looking at roughly 2pm EST on a weekday, and 12pm EST on a Sunday.

    Thoughts?

    Meian and Rob,

You two sort out some times which are open, see if people suggest some times, and we will get you both started. I will ask Hoseki to jump in here too, as he mentioned holding one as well. (I am also going to make this its own thread).

    Thank you alll!

    H folks,

I was hoping to host a tea house, Salt Water Tea House, a Sunday a month around 5 Newfoundland time. Which would be 3:30 New York time and URC-2:30. If it would be helpful to add more time zones just let me know.

I read through the thread rather quickly. Is the plan for you guys to host one in the week and then bi-weekly for the weekend session? If so I then perhaps I can host mine on one of the off weekends?

I’m also going to chat with my wife again to see if there is a good time during the week that might work as well. Perhaps 9 pm Newfoundland time. I would like to do it either after the kids bed time or a hour or two before.

    Thoughts?

P.S. would it be easier for to meet over Skype or Zoom or what have you to discuss?

    Krista,

    Thanks for the feedback!

I'd like to ask others that might be able to join within this time zone range (North/South America) to weigh in with preferences for days/times. Meian, Hoseki and I can chat and figure out how to best make this work for most folks.

That is what I call determination! . I saw that each Fourth Sunday of the month there is the "Grass Roof Tea House", which is at 11 a.m. our time. Just hoping other Tea Houses open up so I can see you guys more often !

    Hello Tomas,
each 2nd and 4th Sunday for now (that would be next Sunday) and there are rumours, that it'll open it's doors more often during Ango .
