I am a novice priest. Any resemblance my posts may have to actual teachings about the Dharma, living or dead, is purely coincidental (and just my attempt to be helpful).

My name is Kevin and I am new here.

I live in Yuma, AZ where it is about 3-4 hours in any direction to the nearest zendo.

My practice has been sporadic and without a teacher since I was a teen. I really feel I could use some guidance as reading can only go so far.

    Happy to be here.

    Hello everybody!
My name is Arya and I am new at Tree Leaf.
I firstly wanna thank you all for allowing me in, I feel very honoured to be part of this Sangha and its wonderful lineage.
I was born in Genoa, Italy, 36 years ago, and lived around there, in the countryside, until I was 21. Then I decided I wanted to travel and, backpaking here and there I finally had a family with two sons, so far, in Mexico where I currently live.
I make my living through selling handicrafts, playing music and whatever I can...lol
I started studying and practicing Zen more constantly some four/five years ago and I want to do my best to be the better part of what we call "me", to help all living being on their way to complete liberation from suffering.
    Nice to meet you all!

    Gassho.

    Sat Today.

    Hello, Treeleaf Sangha,

My name is Steven. I signed-up to be apart of this sangha last year but then never attended anything online. I just attended my first official Zazen tonight. I'm grateful to have the community as I am currently in my first trimester of naturopathic medical school; given the rigors of this program it's wonderful to be able to just hop online and practice with a sangha. I look forward to getting to know you all in the upcoming weeks and months ahead.

Deep bows to each of you,

    Steven

    Hi Everyone

South African living in New Zealand here - 38 and blessed to be married to my best friend and a father to a wonderfully bright, kind, and genuinely funny little girl.
I'm delighted to have stumbled upon Treeleaf (ironically, in a comment on Brad Warner's pretty negative video on "on line zen") and am floored by the sheer amount of goodwill, information and together-practice.

I'm working through the "sit-a-long" videos at the moment and they are just a joy. Thank you Jundo and the Treeleaf Sangha as a whole for this treasure.

Hello my name is Parreira, i'm 44 years old and i'm from Portugal! Very greatfull to be here, many thanks for allowing me!
Well i started meditating around 5 years ago, on my own, i went a few times to a local soto zen temple to pratice shinkantaza Zazen and receive instructions on how to pratice, but due to my working schedule and busy life in general i'm unable to go more often! So the possibility to join an online sangha it's awesome to me!
Thank you all very much for addingme here!

"As the Buddha designed it, the Sangha's responsibility is to keep their vows, learn and practice the Dharma, and teach and guide the lay people. The lay people in turn, provide the requisites for life..." So are not the lay people the Sangha? Thubten Chodron.
