FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO JOIN TO SIT LIVE WITH A CAMERA, A LINK TO JOIN WILL BE POSTED BELOW IN THIS THREAD ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE START TIME. JUST CLICK AND JOIN. WE ARE NOW LIMITED TO 10 INDIVIDUALS WITH CAMERAS, BUT ANY NUMBER CAN WATCH LIVE 'ONE WAY' AND SIT-A-LONG VIA THE ABOVE SCREEN. IF JOINING WITH CAMERA, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR MICROPHONE IS MUTED::

    00:55 – 01:25 ZAZEN

As you can see, our Zazenkai consists of chanting the 'Heart Sutra' in English (the words are at the link below), some full floor prostrations in sets of three (please follow along with me ... or a simple Gassho can be substituted if you wish), followed by our Dedication, Zazen twice for about 30 minutes each, with 10 minutes of Kinhin in between, and we end the sitting with 'The Verse of Atonement' and 'The Four Vows'.

Please join us in the Chanting of the Heart Sutra (although please keep your microphone muted). You can download and print out the Chants we will recite at the following link (PDF):

Not everyone realizes that they can join in the Chanting of the Heart Sutra, Verse of Atonement and Four Vows (although we ask that you keep your microphone down). Please follow along with the Chant Book, and let your voice ring!

So, please join us as soon as you can, and we will keep a Zafu open for you.

Remember, when we drop all thought of 'here' 'there' 'now' 'then' ... we are sitting all together!

PS - There is no "wrong" or "right" in Zazen ... yet here is a little explanation of the "right" times to Bow (A Koan) ...

    Thank you very much,Jundo,Kyonin,and everyTreeleafer.

I come back from hospital right now.I was at hospital from yesterday.

When I drive a car,I can hear Hannya-shingyo(Heart sutra) chant by Kyonin.
    I can not stop crying.

After I come back ,I open PC and wear robe and go to Zendo.

I feel ,here is a real Zendo, from deeply inside.

The three Japanese expressions are ...

Arigato (ありがとう), which means "thank you," but also means "it is to be celebrated" ...

Osewa ni narimasu (お世話になります), which means something like "you are a great help to me" ...

    and

Okage sama de (お陰様で) means "Thank you, it is because of you," and is actually originally from Buddhism. Usually it is said in Japan, even to strangers, to report good news. For example, if someone asks me about my health, I might say "Ogenki desu. Okage sama de" (I am well, and it is thanks to you) even if the person asking had no logical connection to my being well, passing the test, having some success in life. The belief in Buddhism is that, because we are all connected, it is due to the person who is asking even if there is no obvious causal connection.

However, I believe that we should express these things even at the sad or hard times in life, the parts of life that we might not welcome at all. It is because of the hard days, as well as the easy days, that we have all the days of life.

Thank you. You are a great help to me. All my life is because of you.

Thank you too for the teachings Jundo. I will endeavor to be thankful and grateful for all my experiences.

I really like the idea of Okage sama de.

First Zazenkai since just before Christmas, as my wife's medication routine has changed, making it harder to factor in, in the morning but still been sitting all the same. Plus been trying to untangle all the Brexit mess, which could see our French healthcare disappear, on March 30. What a wonderful birthday present that will be!! So I hope for the best and plan for the worst.

    Thank you all.
