Greetings from Kakunen (Mr. K.) now Training at Jyomanji

    Dear All,

I pass on some greetings and news from "Mr. K." (now Kakunen), our regular sitter at the Saturday Zazenkai in Tsukuba. He undertook Ordination last year, and is now in Training at a Soto Zen Temple on the island of Shikoku here in Japan (I have never been to the temple, named 城満寺 Jyomanji, but I have to say from all he tells me that it seems like a very cool and welcoming place, trying to be open to folks from the local community with Yoga classes and musical events and such. Lovely.) ...

    ----------------------

    For member of Treeleaf.

Now I am Jyomanji at Tokushima pref, west Japan.

Jyomanji made by master Keizan, at his young age.

Jyomanji do not have Danka [regular parishioner families, so],everything donated by such like fun club of Buddhism and Master Keizan and Jyomanji.

I practice Zazen, chant, work, celemony and so on.I practice with some member ,from Japan ,USA,Brazil.

[Head] Monk Koya can speak English ,Chinese,Korean.

So I can practice well under international traditional temple.

Jinen [my original teacher at Annonji] allow me to go,this is wonderful and Muho [of Antaiji] and Jundo also support me.

I do practice here ,one is all.I concentrate one thing.

One is all ,all is one.

I think my practice will connect you and everything.

So I will keep on walking in my path.

I will share picture and web address.

    Nine bows. Gassho.

    Dear Treeleafer

In Jyomanji ,we are very busy now.

Next week head monk of Soto sect will come and have celemony.

Maybe this is big opportunity for me in my life.

But I just do one thing, step by step,so as same as Zazen.

I will come back home temporary after celemony,if I can join Zazenkai,I will join.

Greetings from Kakunen (Mr. K.) now Training at Jyomanji

    I come back my hometown.

I was very busy because I do not have any rest day for one month.

I work everyday inside and outside and do Zazen and do chant.

And lots of people come temple for meeting, but I do not know our manner, because I am on training.

And person who want to help us suddenly come.

Our temple always accept to do practice,so sometimes drunked man come, sometimes sad dementia old woman come.

And our head monk was very busy and he always go to work out side.

I just concentrate right now.Sometimes I try to support them, advise to go back home. That was difficult decision.I pray they are well now.

But I always do not regret. And now I feel they have power to live.

I think Buddhism have a power to support and Zazen is core of Buddhism.

I feel very calm because of Zazen.Especially Jundo always helped me.

So I keep on believing you and throw my mind for Buddhism.

    How are you?
I am at 8day Sesshin at here in Jyomanji.

We chant English sutra at our chant time in this Sesshin.

I feel like at Treeleaf and easy to understand because Japanese sutra is old Japanese or Chinese or other language.

I want to search helpful Buddhism.Zazen need no word, but sutra express by word.

Japanese people make difficult by ourselves.

I want searching for helpful Buddhism

    Hi Mr. K!

Buddhism is helpful but like zazen, I think it's about everywhere. We just have to sit.

Greetings from Kakunen (Mr. K.) now Training at Jyomanji

    Hi Treeleafer .

I am Kakunen at Tenryuji near Head Temple Eiheiji.

Head monk Koya suggest me to go here temporary.

This temple have not Danka customer,we given food and money from People who believe Zen and Zazen.

I went to some temple ,Antaiji,Annonji,Jyomanji and here, they are same style ...have no customer.

This temple's Head monk's Teacher Tokugen Sakai was teached by Kodo Sawaki.

Kodo Sawaki 's way of temple give to Koshu Uchiyama and Dharma talk in Japan give to Tokugen Sakai.I heard.

So Head monk Sasai is like dictionary of Zen.

I will start 7day Sesshin from tomorrow. And I will go to Head temple Eiheiji's Sesshin from 1st at February.

Till I will go back Jyomanji ,I will live as Unsui, unsui mean flow like clowds and water.

    Picture at near here.

Picture of Zafu cusshon for Kids.

Here is also international style,I sit with monk from Colombia.

If you want to come here and Jyomanji, please tell me always.

    Sorry for bad English.

    Nine bows.

I just sit another situation.I just sit here!

Maybe style of here is style of Eiheiji.

Also chanting Gionshogi and so on.No chanting at Antaiji.

    Hi Kakunen,

Do they have readings of the "Zazengi" chapter of master Dogen's Shobogenzo ("Syoubougenzouzazengi") every last Zazen period of the day, too?

12 40' periods... in one of the Temples ("Busshinji") here in Brasil, they sit 40' too, I guess 10 or 12 periods during Sesshin.

As other said, thank you for your practice.
