SIT-A-LONG with JUNDO: When I Feel So Bad

Note: Pardon the "so bad" sound, but I believe the point gets across.

When I began Zazen this morning, I felt so bad ...

    ... and then I didn't.

The problems remained, but now filled with clarity, light, peace, compassion, equanimity, allowing ...

no "I" and no "problem" remained ... even as the problems of life remained.

    What did I do?

Better said, it's what "I" didn't need to do or not do.

Many thanks and deep bows Jundo Sensei! Sounds exactly how I sat down to Zazen yesterday morning... so timely and helpful. Will try to let go and awaken to the stillness beyond the chaos more consistently. Hope your daughter feels better!

    Hi all,
maybe a little off-topic, but Jundo's record pic in the above post made me remember a song with the same title.
Lauryn Hill sang a lovesong by Rasheem Sharif Pugh "When it hurts so bad", some lines in the lyrics feel just a bit zenny.

    When it hurts so bad
    Why's it feel so good?
    ...
And if you ever been in love Then you'd understand
That what you want might make you cry
What you need might pass you by If you don't catch it
    And what you need ironically
Will turn out what you want to be
    if you just let it
    if you just let it

edit: ok, nearly the same title than the post :-)... as i come to look closer

    Gassho,

Let me mention that the Podcast is up, thanks to Sekishi, who did his best to fix sound quality. Anyway, the point is understandable.
