Added Talks & Podcasts by Various Soto Zen Teachers

    Hi Folks,

I have added several additional links to Talks and Podcasts by a variety of Soto Zen Teachers, as part of our SUGGESTED BOOK & MEDIA LIST for TREELEAF SANGHA:

    http://www.treeleaf.org/forums/showt...REELEAF-SANGHA

I would like to thank Kokuu for suggesting several, and many Teachers at the Soto Zen Buddhism Association (SZBA) who sent links at my request (I expect a few more in the coming days).

Before anyone asks, the focus of these links is generally upon Teachers of Soto Zen and Shikantaza, and I am not including many fine Teachers and Teachings from many of the Rinzai and mixed Rinzai-Soto Lineages (such as Daido Loori, whose talks always ring my bell) which tend to focus on Koan Introspection Zazen, or other approaches to what they term "Shikantaza". The flavor of those Teachings are really subtly different, enough so that I wish to focus on the Shikantaza approach as here. Likewise for many fine Teachers from Tibetan, Vipassana other fine flavors of Buddhism.

If you have some other suggestions, please send them to me by PM or email, and I promise to check them out.

Below is the list so far, and I expect additions.

    Gassho, Jundo

Thanks for the links. I enjoy Sanshin and SFZC, partially because they offer a video dimension to the talks. I am a visual learner so I enjoy seeing the teacher. I won't add a direct link at this time but Sanshin has a channel on YouTube, and they stream in live talks from Shohaku Okumura on Sunday. SFZC also has live and archived streams at the Livestream website. They have a variety of speakers and stream live on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

    Hi Risho,

There are many fine netcasts from Teachers and Sangha of a Rinzai or mixed Rinzai-Soto flavor that I have not included because, while excellent, the approach tends to be rather different. Upaya netcasts are really a mixed bag of many things, including Tibetan Buddhism, although often of very high quality.

    Hi,

I am happy to say that I have added to the list talks by our friend, Tonen O'Connor and others at Milwaukee Zen Center ...

    http://www.milwaukeezencenter.org/talks/

Tonen says "hi" to everyone, and wants me to mention that one talk (LINK) is based on the talk she offered here at Treeleaf recently, but maybe clearer in content ...

    http://www.milwaukeezencenter.org/ta...gion-Tonen.mp3

Also, because of the generally high quality, I have decided to add the talks from Upaya Zen Center, although with a little note that they are quite eclectic, and come from a variety of traditions.
