I know this is an old thread but it seemed to be the most appropriate one when I searched Treeleaf.

I just finished reading “The Zen Teachings of Homeless Kodo”. What a wonderful book! I found the wisdom of all three men, Sawaki, Uchiyama, and Okumura to be very clear. There was many times where I read something and said “that’s worth quoting” but I would have quoted half the book. I don’t claim to understand everything about our practice and some of the readings here and elsewhere don’t resonate with me at all but this book did. Highly recommended!
