Sunday Morning Zazen US Eastern Time

Greetings all,
I'm planning to resume Sunday morning zazen at 830 AM Eastern time this coming Sunday, January 19. The Hangout will open at 8:25 AM - we will open with the Robe Verse, sit for thirty minutes, and close with the Heart Sutra.

Those of you who have been receiving invites for previous Sunday morning zazen will continue to do so - if you have not been receiving invites but would like to be added please let me know here in this thread.

Clark - the Robe Verse (Takkesage) is chanted when donning the rakusu or kesa in preparation for or during zazen. We will chant it at the beginning of our zazen, for those who have taken the precepts and have sewn a rakusu or kesa. It is a beautiful chant in Japanese and English.... quickly becoming my favorite recitation..... below please find the verse from the Treeleaf Chant Book:

Robe of Liberation boundless

Field beyond both form and formless

Wearing the Tathagatha’s Teachings

Vowing to save all sentient beings

Hello all,
A quick update on Sunday morning zazen:

Sea Kayak guiding season is starting and I will be on the water most weekends. As we start early I will not be able to sit in the morning. I would like to survey the Sunday zazen group to see if there would be interest in having Sunday zazen at 9 PM Sunday night on a weekly basis.
