    By the way, here is a link to the cable network run by the largest Buddhist church here ... the Jogye Order ...

    I do not speak Korean, but visually the feel is very much like the "700 Club" for Buddhists! Buddhism is actually a minority religion in Korea, followed by only about 20% of the population. For centuries, Buddhism was persecuted and the temples largely relegated to mountainous areas isolated from the general population. The Buddhists now feel a lot of pressure to compete with the very large and active Christian churches here in order to survive.
