Hello everyone,

I will be participating in the Terry Fox Run, a 10km run aimed at raising money for cancer research, on September 16th at 9am. I am entering a team with some of my co-workers, if anyone is interested in donating to me or my team "team security" please feel free.

I will post the link below to our donation page. I haven't known anyone too long here (only been a member for 1 year) So I am just throwing it out there.

Hi Terry!

As a runner myself I totally support races and even more so if they are charities.

Plus, these days I have been very touched by some people pretty close to me, whom are battling cancer.

I'll be sure to donate to your team as soon as I can.

Please post some pictures of the race!

Gassho,

Kyonin

Thanks Kyonin, that is very kind of you. I will try and get some good shots of our guys doing the run. Its actually a non-competitve run. But we are treating it as one "for the fun of it".

Hey Shawn,
I definitely think an event of this type would be great for Global Day of Service. There will be an announcement on the Engaged Projects Forum soon about the the timing, which will cover a window of two weeks or so. Keep an eye out on the forum... Maybe you could post some photos and commentary on the blog we will set up for Global Service! More to follow....

Thanks for this!

I actually remember Terry Fox and his run across Canada. I was only 8 or so but it was such a big deal and very inspiring. His commitment and dedication was immeasurable. Thank you for reminding me and thank you for your practice.

Yes, i have many friends who's fathers were police officers and escorted him when he came through there town. When he died, he had ran a total of 5,373 km over 143 days, the equivalent of a marathon every day. His goal I believe was to get 1$ from every canadian at the time, in 1980. Since then, his foundation has made over 600 Million.

Thank you Dokan

Shawn, it really means alot to me that you donated to our run. Given that we have never met in person, I am continually shocked at the amazing people I have met at treeleaf. Please thank your family for this amazing donation. I will be sure to have pictures to post after the sept 16th event.

Thank you

Gassho..

A definition of Awesome sauce found on the web:

Awesomesauce is the sauce that is anointed upon the head of champions. Awesomesauce has no color, and there is no word to describe Awesomesauce except Awesomesauce. Awesomesauce is the drink of choice for Chuck Norris. Awesomesauce not only has no color, but is invisible. Awesomesauce is a liquid form of the internet/ laser tag/ badassery/ sex (well, actually, not that last part, but i put it in there anyway) Awesomesauce has no real name, that is why us unworthy humans made a name for it... and that name is Awesomesauce. Awesomesauce is the reason Darth Maul was born. Awesomesauce is the source of all that is awesome, and some that is too awesome to be explained by any word humans are able to speak. Awesomesauce, to vampires, is the anti-holy water, but is still produced by god. Awesomesauce is the way, the truth, and the awesome. Awesomesauce is why the song "Sandstorm" exists, because no other force could have produced that song. Awesomesauce, my friends, is the source of success and amazing, and for lack of a word that humans are unable to fathom, awesome...
