Oh, I am a little late this week. My apologies ...

We often "dress for success", for warmth or to cover up. But "what's really going on beyond all the surface layers?" Who is truly there inside the clothes?

Keizan leaves us a powerful exhortation to his monks to push beyond ... all to find that it is not a matter of when, of China or Japan or Texas, or anything you can receive from Buddhas.

I just got my copy so I'm gonna jump right in.

Intimacy with the blood line that runs
Through the generations and back.
Intimate with the mind that sees through
the clear rough waters,
that is to be intimate but not intimate enough.

Sorry I'm late to join in.

Hello friends,

Even after you've left home, don't forget to leave home. Even holding on to the tiniest fragment is still wandering.

Intimacy, intimacy.

Our consciousness.....
'When you fully attain the Dharma eye you will see the mountains, rivers and earth do not ruin or adulterate yourselves, nor do yourselves ruin or adulterate the mountains, rivers and earth'. - Tsu-hin

... no without or within, yet no touching, only clarity.

Despite what society tells us, clothes do not make the (buddha) man.

What could be more intimate than to look beneath the robe?
What is to be found there?
Intimacy.
Emptiness.
No separation.

The One Great Matter is not about the trappings; it's about seeing through the trappings to what lies beneath, which is a gleaming pearl without need of cutting or polishing, thus buddha nature revealed.

Hiyas I had decided to write nothing here.
Nothing to say, I figured, really. That over with, revealing flesh and bones and such (hopefully some form of underwrap!!)
I took this to mean the most intimate of intimate... Old buddha showing new buddha how intimately all buddhas are connected. There is no separation, robes or no robes, all still are one. Nothing more intimate! what was revealed was not under the robes or on top... that would be suggesting there was something more or less than intimate.

What can be more intimate than simply what is. No need for to do or wait for anything. Intimacy simply is...
