The altar fell to the floor and smashed up a bit in the quake ... but we will be having our weekly Zazenkai tomorrow, usual time. However netcast is unlikely unless we get a signal and power. Please sit together with us, right here, nonetheless and just the same.
Gassho ... Jundo
Oh noooo, poor altar :(
Taigu Sensei let us know that you and the family are well :D

What about Sensei Taigu? Is he fine too?
I am so glad you were able to post this message. I was looking everywhere to find about you and Sensei Taigu. I bet a lot of other people in the Sangha are trying to find about you both too. Maybe someone should send an e-mail to everyone in the Sangha.
Is the Zen Hall gonna be broadcasted tonight?
Gassho,
Sunyata.

Sat Zazenkai in unity with everyone this morning.
Added some extra prayers for our suffering brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers in Japan with Healing, Compassionate thoughts to surrond them at this particular time.

What is the Sariraimon? Could someone please post it here?
I plan to sit tomorrow morning (by myself, no computer, I have limited access this weekend) but with all of you and everyone in Japan in mind, more or less following the usual zazenkai schedule.
Hi Jennifer, here is a copy of the Shariraimon that Jundo posted for the Ikuo Azuma Roshi memorial.

With wholehearted reverence we bow to the relics of the true body of the Tathagata Shakyamuni, who is fully endowed with myriad virtues; to the dharma body, which is the fundamental ground; and to his stupa, which is the whole universe. With deep respect we venerate the one who manifested a body for our sake. Through the sustaining power of the Buddha, which enters us even as we enter it, we verify awakening. By means of the Buddha’s spiritual power, we benefit living beings, arouse the thought of awakening, cultivate Bodhisattva practice, and together enter perfect peace, the knowledge of the equality of all things. Now let us reverently bow.
Gassho,
John
Sat this morning, but I must say that doing Zazenkai without Jundo Sensei Is like driving without GPS!
