http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13094120 (http://http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13094120)

Our Zazenkai consists of our chanting the 'Heart Sutra' and the 'Identity of Relative and Absolute (Sandokai)' in English (please download our Chant Book at the link below), some full floor prostrations (please follow along with me ... or a simple Gassho can be substituted if you wish), a little talk by me ... and we close with the 'Metta Chant', followed at the end with the 'Verse of Atonement' and 'The Four Vows'. Oh, and lots and lots of Zazen and walkin' Kinhin in between!

Please download and print out the Chant Book (PDF) at the following link:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2231 (http://http://www.treeleaf.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2231)

I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU POSITION YOUR ZAFU ON THE FLOOR IN A PLACE WHERE YOU ARE NOT STARING DIRECTLY AT THE COMPUTER SCREEN, BUT CAN GLANCE OVER AND SEE THE SCREEN WHEN NECESSARY. YOUR ZAFU SHOULD ALSO BE IN A POSITION WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE COMPUTER SCREEN WHILE STANDING IN FRONT OF THE ZAFU FOR THE CEREMONIES, AND HAVE ROOM FOR BOWING AND KINHIN.

ALSO, REMEMBER TO SET YOUR COMPUTER (& SCREEN SAVER) SO THAT IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF DURING THE 4 HOURS.

I hope you will join us ... an open Zafu is waiting. When we drop all thought of 'here' 'there' 'now' 'then' ... we are sitting all together!

Hi all,

I'll be on ustream and ooVoo again this week (I hope!). We usually have a short exchange of greetings at ustream before Jundo gets started and would love to see anyone join us in the zen hall. It'll be my second week trying both at the same time, so we'll see how the old 'puter handles it! ;)

OK, so I signed up for the Hall tonight by mistake. I'll be sitting the zazenkai tomorrow from 2000-0000 EST. Sorry for tying up the schedule with that nonsense. I'd love some company, but I understand the time isn't optimal. Saturday night is my Sunday with regards to work, but I live in bizarro world.

Couldn't keep ustream and ooVoo working at the same time, but have a couple more tricks up my sleeve for next week! :)

Great Zazenkai today! Thanks for the message Jundo, it brought back memories of carrying around an old battered, dog-earred copy of "Be Here Now" by Ram Das in my satchel through the 60's and 70's. Now where did that ever get to? That message was my mantra..how easily we forget it's simplicity in our complicated lives.

I only managed up to the end of part two but many thanks for the sitting and dharma talk Jundo.

I had strange images of a zen rally for the silent minority.
What do we want? - Equanimity!
When do we want it? - Here and Now!

Sorry but it ruined my zazen fora while..I couldn't stop giggling to myself (silently of course).

Have a great week everyone.

Well it was my first monthly Zazenkai and it was a wonderful experience.

I still have to learn a lot of Treeleaf, but I think I did pretty well.

I have a question, though.

When Jundo makes postrations, do we have to them as well? If so, how do I do them? I couldn't see because he disappears from camera while doing them.

I really learned a lot from the talk. Be here now.

Thank you. Looking forward for next weekend.

Hi,

We just had a lovely thread on the meaning of bowing ...

viewtopic.php?p=49529#p49529 (http://http://www.treeleaf.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=49529#p49529)

... and this should tell you a bit of the mechanics (a video made in preparation for our annual 2-day Retreat in December) ...

Full prostrations are a wonderful statement of dropping the ego and humility. However, if you wish, a simple Gassho will do well too.

Did 2 hours yesterday, 2 hours today.

Thanks for the "be here now" talk. I've been having a case of the "if only-ies" lately, so I needed to hear it. :)
