Hi all

This is a short article by Haiku poet and former Zen priest Clark Strand currently featured in Tricycle:

https://tricycle.org/article/haiku-as-therapy/

I very much appreciate Clark's words on haiku, although he remains wedded to the 5-7-5 syllable format which has been dropped by most other people writing English Language Haiku (ELH) for linguistic reasons.

Thanks, Kokuu. the article gave an insight on why I’m feeling so drawn into the world of haiku and tanka - thought I’m still a very early beginner both in readings and composition.

It is said woman does fall
Come late this year another
Pandemic waits in yellow wings
Of light rising sun tinged with pink.

Rightly no fall, slide
Down stairs, step one and all seen
As more nightmare than surgery.
