There are recent concerns that in the future we could see the extinction of many marine species over the next couple of hundred of years. It was published several places this week including the Washington Post (Tarin said wrong link so I will try to get another one…sorry)

About 500 million years ago during the Late Ordovician Extinction it is believe 85% of marine species went extinct due to climate changes. However, I believe that took place over several hundred thousand years. If anyone is more familiar with this please correct me or share more information. Yes the earth has gone through several major extinctions before humans appeared. The difference is the speed with which things are unfolding'

My optimism has carried me through a life time of conservtaion. I know change is possible. Let us be part of that change.
