TONGLEN MEDITATION CIRCLE Sunday 26 August 2018

Dear all

Please do join us for the beautiful Tibetan inspired practice of taking and sending (tonglen), tomorrow on Sunday 26 August. This practice is based on loving kindness (metta) and includes both taking in the suffering of others and sending joy, peace and metta.

All are very welcome to join whether they have previous experience of the practice or not.

The Tonglen Practice Circle will be happening tomorrow in the scheduled sitting room (https://www.treeleaf.org/now/go.php?l=scheduled-sitting-room) at the following times:

UK (BST) - 8pm
Western Europe - 9pm
EDT - 3pm
CDT - 2pm
MDT - 1pm
PDT - 12pm
AKDT - 11am
Tokyo - 5am (Monday)

Is there a reason that we are not? I would love to make this more widely available to people who can't attend at that time.

Hello,

Will this take place again at some point? I have practiced this before (having learned from a Tibetan Lama), but it is something I struggle with also. Would love to work with a recording if there is one.

Yes, it takes place on the last Sunday of each month.

There are plans to record the next session but I am not yet up to speed with the tech!

Yes, I have practiced tonglen a few times.

If I can assist at all with the tech, please let me know. I'm happy to try. Even if I am not feeling well that day, if it is something that maybe I can just set up on my laptop to record and/or monitor, I can probably do that.

Someone will show you how to make a Youtube Hangout, Kokuu. It is as easy as a skype call (almost). And any priest of a primarily online Sangha must know such skills, as much as lighting the candles or ringing a bell.

Follow these steps to set up Hangouts On Air with YouTube Live:

Go to Live Streaming Events in Creator Studio.
Click New live event.
Select Quick (using Google Hangouts On Air).
Give your live stream a title.
Click Go live now or enter in details to schedule your event for later.
Use Hangouts to broadcast live.
