Need urgent guidance from Googleplus/Mac users ...

Taigen and I tried to do a test run of googleplus tonight. When he clicked on "join hangout", there was an indication that the Googleplus plugin was loading onto his Macbook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.5. However, it appeared to get stuck at "verifying plugin" and it then "went to a window with [his] picture and says please wait," then brought up a window saying unresponsive script.

He could not join the hangout.

Any ideas? I recall that one or two other mac users may have had similar issues.

Hey there Jundo,

Can you have Taigen try and uninstall the current plugin: https://support.google.com/chat/answer/161994?hl=en. Once he has done, he can then install the current version of the plugin: https://www.google.com/tools/dlpage/hangoutplugin.

Let me know how it goes.

Use different browsers. Safari, chrome or Firefox all work with Mac.

To make a long story short ... he is not good with computers, and is a bit all thumbs. None of the solutions seem to be working for him.

I have asked him to Skype in his portion onto one computer of mine, and I will use another computer for Googleplus ... and each will see and hear each other clearly when I position the mike and camera.

Seat of the pants, but it will work.

As Jishin has said, using Google Chrome may eliminate some of the plug in issues. I've had similar issues using Firefox that went away when I switched to Chrome.

If all is installed correctly, this error might also refer to a very long execution time of the plugin, so the browser "thinks" the app is not responding. (old machine / too many parallel running programs / etc.).
The timeout for waiting for the script to respond, can be set to a larger value in firefox.

If there is a Smartphone available and some "App-install"-experience, maybe installing the Hangout App and using the phone, to get rid of that Mac-Problem, might also be a way.

I had similar plugin issues for awhile, but mine were solved by switching from Chrome to Firefox! It just shows that you should always try other browsers. That seems to work most of the time, at least in my experience.
