Dear All,

We will netcast a brief Memorial Service from Treeleaf Tsukuba for victims of the March 11th Great Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster in Japan, as well as for sentient beings suffering everywhere around the world. It will consist of a short recitation of the Heart Sutra in Japan and a Dedication, and should take about 20 minutes.

Of course, if you cannot join live because of the time, you can join with the recorded version when you can.

Hi,
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers everywhere.

Also, thanks for scaring me Myozan! :) Had me checking the calendar for a minute.

But indeed...every day should be mother's day!

If you missed to join live, it is not too late to stand in Gassho and join our short service above, remembering in your heart those near and far who may have been deprived of life, safety and shelter.

Of course, taking a few minutes to chant and remember is fine, but we also ask you to consider making a donation today to a charity that is helping those around the world in need. There are people in many corners of the globe who could use your support. We suggest a charity such as DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS (http://www.msf.org/) or SAVE THE CHILDREN (https://www.savethechildren.net/) . There are certainly people in your own community as well.

Here in Japan, there are many people still feeling the loss and uprooting to their life which happened on March 11, 2011. May they stand as a symbol of all those around the world who have met loss of life, shelter and safety in some way since that time.

Thank you, Jundo, that was a lovely memorial.

Regarding the radiation in Fukushima prefecture, this is what one monk is/was going about it, from a year ago:
