    Rain and dharma and coffee

I am sitting at my desk, looking to world getting soaked by the summer rain.

Sun hasn't come up yet so it's the time for me to write a little.

But my mind wanders driven by the sound of the rain. It falls down to earth and it's real. It gets you wet, it makes puddles and gives life to everything. Even if you run to cover from it, odds are that your feet will end up soaked.

No matter what you do, rain covers it all. It's there, it's real and you can't avoid it.

    And I realize it's all I need.

Rain behaves like the Four Noble Truths.

Rain is life. Just like the dharma.

    I sip my coffee.

Just have to drop our raincoats of greed, rubber boots of anger and umbrellas of ignorance and remember to enjoy the dharma rain.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.

Thanks for this. We're having a drought here. But the rain will return one day, as it always does.
    Thanks,

Reminds me of one of my favorite poems:

    Rain on a Spring Night
    Du Fou

    Congratulations, rain
    you know when to fall

    and you know quite well
    you belong to spring

    coming at night, quiet
    walking in the wind

    making sure things
    get good and wet

    the clouds hang dark
    over country roads,

there's one light from a boat
    coming downriver

    in the red morning
    everything's wet

    flowers all through Chengdu
    heavy and full of rain.

Thank you Kyonin, for the beautiful imagery. Hot & dry here now, but you remind me that the rain is coming.
