    Treeleaf T-Shirt Project (The Poll)

After reading some of your comments on the initial designs, Kyonin worked out some new designs that incorporated your ideas. We also had to evaluate the designs from a cost stand point as well. The Front and Back designs could get expensive to print, so it's best for now if we look at something a bit simpler. In the end, we'll likely go with a single design.

I think the full web address makes the designs look rather cluttered. It's hard to see, but it looks like they all have the "www"...do you really need that? I'm pretty sure I like #1 the best (black is cool, but I have a light colored cat!), but I still think adding .org to the end of the main Treeleaf graphic would look really cool.

I'll withhold my vote for now...and non think on it.

Awesome charity project! Thank you to all who are working on this _/\_
Also, just having the ability to do an online poll is a pretty cool new feature. I'm continually impressed with Treeleaf 2.0. What can't this new forum do?!

Lots of votes for the white shirts...that'll totally ruin my goth image...plus with 3 kids it'll become an "house shirt" probably in about 15 minutes.

    Love the voting feature!

Do you have any in organic cotton with a 3/4 sleeve and the motto in a more contemporary font in pink glitter paint in a sort of wraparound look in a distressed finish? Cuz that's what I really want.

Just kidding, but I wish the evil smiley emoticon was still here.

Would you like me to customize it? I'm sure my Wife (Queen of Pink) can shake some unicorn dust on it and I can drive over it a few times in the car for the appropriate distressed look.

You're right, we need to resurrect the evil emoticons.

When you say 'badges' do you mean like a button?

I know this run of t-shirts we are going to try to go through a proper silk-screener, but perhaps we'll also setup a Redbubble or Cafepress site with miscelllaneous other goods as well. I know you can have buttons made on those sites.

This just made me think of another possibility as well. Buddhabadges.com is a website that makes these little 1" old school punk rock buttons with Buddhist themes. A lot of their buttons are micro fund-raisers for groups and projects, perhaps we can get them to make us a Treeleaf button where the proceeds go toward our charity fund. Thoughts?

Hey those badges look pretty cool!

If we set up a Cafe Press store for other non t-shirt items, we could have coffee mugs, mouse pads and a lot of stuff.

    That would be cool

Hmmm. Not sure that we need much more "stuff" to symbolize a Zen Sangha. How about non-stuff? Perhaps we should sell empty coffee mugs (empty not just inside, but empty even of mugness)? You order it, and it never comes (thus never broken either).

Maybe let's just go with t-shirts for now.

Hi Chris I can't find the original post for the idea of T shirts? Are we going to try to distribute/sell them ourselves - how does it work?
Yes - I meant the button badges - they could be sold for charity - but might also be a subtle way of introducing Tree Leaf for those of us who are a bit T shirt shy.

    Hi everyone,
I think the "All Life Is Our Temple" catchphrase is less important than the name Treeleaf itself. So, I'd propose that they be inverted in the last desgin in terms of importance and size. What do you think Kyonon and everyone?

PS: In terms of going beyond the T-Shirts, I think the whole point is that this is to support a worthy cause (yet to be determined). So, it's important to bear that in mind.

    Hi Shokai,
Once we get a design champion, we'll have Treeleafers send in their order. In the end, the cost will depend a little on the design itself, so once we have a design, we'll get a cost.

If design 1 & 2 come up in a tie, do we buy grey shirts?

    Gassho,

I was just looking to see which design was in the lead and noticed that the design is still not our motto. It says "All Life is Our Temple", not "All of life is our temple". It's really not that different, but what's there made me think I'd be "saying" to those viewing the shirt that we believe in inhabiting all life forms.

Ah, yeah, about that. I think if I wore a shirt that said "All Life is Our Temple" in my neighborhood, I'd probably be mistaken for an anti-abortion activist. It's pretty close to "All Life is Sacred."

Actually, I don't understand why we've changed the graceful simplicity of "Life is our Temple." Imagine if Douglas Adams's book was suddenly called "All of Life, the Universe, and Everything." Pretty unnecessary, no?
