Inspiring and touching

Hi All,
Just thought I'd mention this......
More on funeral rituals can be seen as exemplified in one our recent films("Departures") from our Treeleaf film club. If you've seen it, feel free to share your thoughts in our always open thread here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4352
If not, I highly recommend catching this film!!

I suppose I should have said more in the initial post of the link, and if I had done so I would've said that I thought this priest was a wonderful role model for good practice overall, not just for the dead, but how he understood the ramifications of how simple actions can have ripple effects on waves of people, in the case the living. And of course, as others above have mentioned, it's just a wonderfully touching story. It's those multiple layers that make it so Buddhist to me.
I have found so many of such stories of that horrific event. The bad events may not be reported, but if so I'm ignorantly happy to just focus on the positives in the human nature that have shone through.

I was also immediately reminded of the Departures movie, which impressed me quite a bit. I would have liked to see my grandmother after she died - my aunt said I should be glad that I didn't - still...
Thank you for sharing
