For those in the states, PBS is airing a show on the Buddha.....http://www.pbs.org/thebuddha/ Many times PBS will post shows online and so even if you don't get PBS you may wish to check the site after the show airs...First show on April 7th.

April 8th is also BUDDHA's BIRTHDAY! (in Japan anyway ... he was born other days in other countries. And, of course, he is "no birth" timeless too).
