Hey Guys,

The Oryoki Videos I made yesterday at 3AM, after some technical problems with Ustream, were just not up to snuff. I was off my Oryoki game.

Thanks to Dirk, I have found and reposted on Youtube (third time is the charm) much much more helpful videos made for our 2007 One Day Retreat. Might I make these pretty muchMandatory for all Retreat Participants? Please practice with the videos a few times. Pretty please? You really need this for a lovely aspect of the Retreat (we will be eating Oryoki style 6 times!).

The video on making an Oryoki set is here (about the same as the old video):

The video on how to perform Oryoki for our Retreat is here (a better demonstration):

(just click on the bottom pictures)

Oryoki is a beautiful practice, moving Zazen, and I did not want to take away from that with a poor explanation and demonstration, and my being out of practice. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will be doing a simplified, sometimes improvised and creative version but, I hope, no less mindful. The attitude and spirit are the most important.
