    "Zen Heart" by Ezra Bayda

As usual, I am juggling several books... as I start Brad Warner's new one and follow along with "Opening the Hand of Thought" with you all, I am just finishing this one. "Zen Heart, Simple Advice for Living with Mindfulness and Compassion," by Ezra Bayda. I found it surprisingly helpful in a practical way. Although the meditation technique described in one part of the book is not exactly shikantaza, there are some really helpful tips that helped clarify my perspective about how practice progresses, being with different types of resistance that comes up, and dealing with others (including those close to us, as discussed in a current thread here). It reminds me of Jundo's easy-to-understand teaching style in some ways, one digestible concept at a time. I highlighted a lot of passages in it. In case anyone is looking for yet another book to add to their list. lol
