    Morning Sit

    Hi all,

I have begun sitting every weekday morning at 6:45AM Eastern United States Time (GMT -5) with Daizan. Very simple; 30 minutes of zazen and a bow at the end, if anyone would like to join in. Just be on G+ at about that time and the sit should show up a little before 6:45. I am doing the inviting through the Treeleaf "Community" so you need to be a member for it to show up in your "stream". If you need instructions on how to join the Treeleaf Community, just let me know.

    All are welcome!

Thanks for hosting this sitting, Shugen. Only a couple more weeks of school left for my boys, so I will join y'all on my weekdays off once we close this chapter of The Big Yellow Bus.

    Hello all,

I thought I'd bring this back up. Daizan and I are still sitting pretty consistently weekday mornings if anyone is interested. Same time, same format. It's a great way to start the day!

    Hi Shugen!

This is great! I hope I can join from time to time. By that time I am starting to work. That's almost 9 AM my time.

I usually sit at 5:30 AM Central. That's too early for most regular humans, I suppose

These discussions always remind me that I'm not an international traveller...

I think I know that CEST is GMT+2.
I've also installed some extra places in my worldclock, so one glance shows New York, Tokio.

But what the heck is AM Central??

    Adding Mexico City.
    Lunch!

    Hi Danny!

Central time is the same as Chicago, Dallas, Mexico City, Guadalajara (where I live), Guatemala and Salvador. That's GMT -6.

    Hi MyoHo,

I like to keep it simple. As long as you are a member of the Treeleaf "Community", if you are on Google Plus around 6:45AM (my time of course), it should show up in your "stream".

    Hello all,

We are still sitting in the mornings during the week. We've add a Monday and Wednesday "morning service" that begins at 6:15am (still GMT/UTC -5 until next week anyway - time change in the US this weekend). The "service" consists of 20 minutes of zazen, 10 minutes of kinhin, 20 minutes of zazen, the Heart Sutra, Verse of Atonement and 4 Vows. It takes about an hour. All are welcome!

Hmm.... You're in my Treeleaf circle. It's not an "Event" so you have to be on Google Plus at around the time of the Hangout. It should show up in your "Stream". I'm pretty clueless about this stuff....

Hey Shingen!!! You out there? Got any advice for Joyo and me?

    Hey Shugen,

That is why it is not showing or why Joyo is not getting a notification. If you just start a Hangout and is open, then the person has to be there at the time of the event. So, looks like you are doing all correct and know what you are doing. =)

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

Time to change things up a bit. (Beginning of a new school year and new school starting times)

Starting on Monday August 24th, we will be sitting from 6AM EST (New York City Time, GMT -4) until 6:30AM EST. The format will be very simple: Three bells, 30 minutes of zazen, 1 bell at the end and then a bow to one another. It will be Monday through Saturday.

Once Ango begins, the starting time will be 5:40AM EST and the format will be: 40 minutes of Zazen, the Heart Sutra, Verse of Atonement and Four vows. The ending time should still be around 6:30AM.

If anyone is interested in joining for all or part and is not getting an "invite" on Google Plus, please contact Daizan or myself.
