    Koku

These few words are inspired by Shobogenzo Koku.
They were wriiten in an early morning train to answer one of my students poem about this chapter.

    Wonderful space
    Neither inside nor outside,
    When you're not there
Then the ten thousand things move forward
    And an edgeless iris opens
And turns a simple plum blossom
    Opening the open
    This
The body of a bell tinkling in the wind
    Dindin dindin dindin
    The ancient poem of Nyojo
    Expresses it so well
    Nothing that is not it
And nothing to make, neither words nor forms
The vast space is both matter and seal
    Presence undone of itself
Our real body open like a mouth
    Hanging in space

How beautiful! I had never read this chapter Koku before ( I have only Shobogenzo volume 1, sorry ) but found it on the internet after you posted this gem.

Thank you Taigu for your teachings.

    Taigu,

Zazen this morning was particularly worthless and it may have been a reflection of your beautiful poem/teaching.

    Thanks again.

    Trois prosternations and gasshô

    T.
