    Li Po (This is zazen)

This may have appeared on Treeleaf before. If so, I apologize for posting it again. But, I just read this poem in a yoga textbook and smiled. I said to myself, "wow, this is zazen."

The birds have vanished down the sky.
Now the last cloud drains away.
We sit together, the mountain and me,
    until only the mountain remains.

I love that one, William. For me it could never be posted too many times.

    Another:
Breaking through Heaven’s Gate, the Great River goes by,
Green water eastward flows and then turns to the north.
On both sides of the River blue cliffs tower high,
Leaving the sun behind, a lonely sail comes forth.

Thanks for sharing. If we all came from one, isn't our segregation only mental? I think so.

Beautiful, so simple and yet really, you could take this small verse and make it a guide through your entire life.

Just to add this is zazen for me:

Mind set free in the Dharma-realm
I sit at the moon filled window
Watching the mountains with my ears
Hearing the stream with my eyes
Each molecule preaches the perfect law
Each moment chants the true sutra
The most fleeting thought is timeless,
A single hair's enough to stir the sea.
