    Dogen s poem about zazen

    The moon mirrored
    In a mind clear
    As water still
    Even the waves
    Breaking
    Reflect its light

Of course the entire moon of awakening knows no bounds. Centre without periphery, all things arise and vanish within its golden-white disc. The mirror is selfless, reflecting without essence, manifesting without being trapped in I or you. Movements, stirs, images, thoughts go by and in breaking reveal their true nature and display the very radiance of the Dharma.
Not an inch of this escapes the moon-body, the mirror- moon of sitting described by Nagarjuna has one taste and countless manifestations.

Swallow it and spit it at once!

    Thank you Taigu.

Often this moon-mirror/moon-body eludes me. Dark clouds obscure and I feel that I am the dark clouds - nothing but the stirrings, thoughts, images, and the golden-white disc is a thing apart

The simplicity and beauty of the teaching is sometimes hard to actualize.

    Dearest Willow,

There is a chapter of Shobogenzo called "one bright pearl" , in many ways it would point out to this: although you experience confusion and pain, this happens within the perfectly clear circle origin. Bad or good sitting, just sitting. Always a single pearl in this whole universe.

Allow Pearl-Willow to take great care of Willow-pearl

Thank you Taigu - kind and wise words echoing in a 'demon's black-mountain cave' .

Thank you Taigu. Not to sound corny, but I am not such a poetic person, and I love how you express Zen.
