SIT-A-LONG with Taigu: Fukanzazengi 3
I strongly recommand the work of my teacher, Mike Chodo Cross. Mike did the donkey work on the Nishijima translation of the shobogenzo and his knowledge and understanding of Dogen is beyond anything you can imagine. Here it is an amazing document with Dogen kanji explained one at a time and a copy of the original written by Dogen:

Deep appreciation for the link. Many bows to Gudo and Chodo for their diligent efforts in translating Fukanzazengi. Capturing the essence of zazen through Dogen's hand and brush was excellent . Gassho Shogen

Yes, amazing translation. Imagine what he had to do with the whole shobogenzo, kanji by kanji.
I use dogen s brush work and fukanzazengi for my scribbles on the back of rakusus.

The precision of each stroke is breathtaking....the exactitude of meaning and movement stroke after stroke. The close ups exude such fine control and power. Astonishing. Thank you for this link Taigu.
