SIT-A-LONG with JUNDO—Buddhanomics: Let Go, Don't Throw Away
http://tiki.oneworld.net/pollution/rubbish_mountain.gif We live in a DISPOSABLE SOCIETY, in which things are used then tossed in the trash. How wasteful we are!
Better to appreciate things as they are, allowing and honoring little imperfections. Don't be in such a rush to throw away. Appreciate things for so long as they are in our life then, when eventually truly necessary due to the changes of passing time ... just let them go.
Today’s Sit-A-Long video follows at this link. Remember: recording ends soon after the beginning bells; a sitting time of 20 to 35 minutes is recommended.

Re: SIT-A-LONG with JUNDO—Buddhanomics: Let Go, Don't Throw Away
Thank you Jundo, I particularly enjoyed that teaching.
By the way, my car is 12 years old, 119,000 miles; the first week I had it it got keyed - then again and again over the years whenever we moved, ("Hey, let's welcome the queers to the neighbourhood!"), I never got it re-sprayed, I just rubbed some (incorrect shade) chip filler into the long scratches so it didn't rust - there's probably 3 running the length of each side and one across the bonnet. I've been so happy driving around in it. I often tell people how fond of it I am and they say, "Well, you might at least clean it up occasionally!", but I like it the way it is. I'm happier to get it propped up on the four or five times it's gone wrong than use it as an opportunity to trade it in.
Next time I go to get it serviced and the mechanic gives it the, "Not that thing again!" look, I'll remind him of the tea cups in today's sit-a-long.

Not so easy, sometimes :) But to me its just a unskillful habit, that I slowly learn to change.
