New edition of Shobogenzo from Shambhala
I've posted a review of this wonderful (yet expensive) set of books on my web site:

If you like books, it's a very nice set. I have only read the intro so far, but this will indeed offer years of reading.

The Tanahashi translations are wonderful.
For those late to the show, we have had some discussion of the various Shobogenzo translations before ...

Thanks for that review, Kirk! This set just might go on my Christmas (yeah, Christmas) list.
Just out of curiosity, could you look at the front matter and tell me which country the books were printed in?

Thanks for the review!
Now I have to work harder to be able to buy them.
I have a pretty humble Shobogenzo edition but what really matters is the translation. :D

Yes, this one seems to be the one that is worth having in English. And, to be honest, as I mentioned in my review, the glossary is quite useful as well, as it does explain some of the concepts a bit more thoroughly than what the actual translation can do.

Just a thought, it might be a noble effort to request a kindle edition of this text. Just think of the trees saved… And the convenience of a search function!

Shambhala has a lot of ebook editions of their books, but not of many of the bigger ones. My guess is that, considering the price, they won't do it, though if they could at least for the glossary it would be helpful. They do have ebook editions of their Chogyam Trungpa collected works books, though, which are fairly expensive, but I think they released them only after releasing paperback editions.
It's entirely possible that there will be a paperback and ebook of this in the future, after they've recouped their investment on the hardcover.
