Buddha statue at sesshin? Ok!...

Hi.
as part of my participation of the sesshin i had to tell my boss at the bookstore i "work" in i had to tell my boss that i wouldn't be able to come those days i sat.
To make a long story short we talked about having a "buddhastatue" in the center of the room.
He then asked if i were to have "the buddha statue" in/on me.
I answered yes.
and he looked at me with a very strange look.
I then explained that the buddha was in me, even if "the statue" were somewhere else.
