PLEASE WITNESS: Our Treeleaf 'Shukke Tokudo' Ordination 2012

Dear All,

I hope all will join in watching, witnessing and sharing today's "Shukke Tokudo" priest ordination of Shinkai and Dosho ... conducted by Jundo. This is an important moment for any Buddhist Sangha, and a time for celebration. Congratulations to our new ordainees! We also re-welcome Myozan, ordained by Taigu at our last Retreat, as the three together become our new novice priests in training. They join our current novices, Mongen, Shohei and Fugen, their older brothers.

The ceremony is traditional, yet groundbreaking ... for we believe it is only the second time (both at Treeleaf) that a Buddhist Ordination has been performed simultaneously across the world (today with Jundo in Japan, and our ordainees in New York and Texas) ... yet face to face and heart to heart ... beyond here there, now or then.

I will have more information tomorrow, as I am a bit tired from showing our visiting Dokan a little around Tsukuba today. I thank him very much for his able and attentive assistance during the ceremony as Jikido.

My heart-felt congratulations to my sister Shinkai and my brother Dosho. Jundo (and Dokan): A job well done.

May we support each other in the years ahead, as we have supported each other in the years past. May we be of some service to this great Sangha as it continues to flourish.

Those photos are so sweet. During the ceremony I saw how difficult it was for them to put on the robes and Kesa. I never knew how much work that was until now.

He didn't say he was proud of me, but he did say he was happy to have been included in the ceremony. And, yes, our 3 year old slept during the ceremony and all went as it should. Thanks for asking!

Finally, after a crazy week and weekend, I was able to witness the ceremnoy "non-live" :wink: ...wished I was able to be there live, and for a moment I tought I could, but anyway....just beautiful... thank you Masters Jundo an Taigu, novice Priests Dosho, Shinkai and Myozan, and thanks to all the members of the Sangha...congratulations :)
