SIT-A-LONG with Jundo: BIG small

It is said that Buddhas and Zen Masters have the amazing power to transcend BIG and small ...
... to make the small TREMENDOUS, and the BIG as tiny as an atom ...
... to know the BIGGEST held easily in the smallest, and to hold the entirety of space and time in a blade of grass.
IT IS TRUE! IT IS TRUE! IT IS TRUE!
Basho haiku'd a tiny jump and a boundless sound ...
The old pond.
A frog jumps in.
Plop
William Blake sang ...
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour
A small thing, no big trick for Zen folks!
Today’s Sit-A-Long video follows at this link. Remember: recording ends soon after the beginning bells; a sitting time of 15 to 35 minutes is recommended

Gassho Jundo. I'm not sure why but this talk drew to mind a quote from a book I just finished on Layman P'ang:
"The Layman was sitting in his thatched cottage one day [studying the s?tras]. "Difficult, difficult," he said; "like trying to scatter ten measures of sesame seed all over a tree." "Easy, easy," Mrs. Pang said; "like touching your feet to the ground when you get out of bed." "Neither difficult nor easy," Ling Zhao said; "on the hundred grass tips, the great Masters' meaning."

Re: SIT-A-LONG with Jundo: BIG small
As I always do on Sundays, I went out for a long run before the sun came out. While I moved through the city, dawn was coming.
I got to a place where there's a famous statue and as I ran around it, the sun started to come out. I got to this point where I saw the sun coming out behind the statue, like a halo.
I stopped for a few seconds in awe. I couldn't feel my feet, my heart or my breathing. My mind forgot who I am, all the problems, all the memories. All there was in the universe was this magnificent spectacle of the sun greeting this side of the world. Golden light and warmth. Perfect.
They were about 3 or 5 seconds where all in the cosmos was in communion. The sun representing life, time and space. The statue was the work of man, the vision of an artist, the symbol of a city. And me, the most insignificant part of it all.
I smiled and resumed my running.
It was a small thing that made all the big things smaller.
Thank you, Jundo.

Thank you Jundo;
I met a racoon dog (Tanuki) once in Kaita-cho; wished I had had my camera with me.https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-k...3/IMG_0001.jpg
Like you say, "Don't sweat the small stuff!"
