Just a thought.
The practice of Zazen seems to me to be like a reminder: you sit down to remember what you'd forgotten; remember that there's no need to worry - life faced straight on will be just fine.
I guess that's why it doesn't really matter how long your Zazen is, as long it's a daily reminder.
Just a 'ponsy' thought.

I wouldn't just say that Zazen is only a reminder.
Yes. But I'll just add : there's a difference between just thinking it and actually knowing or experiencing it. Not really facing it straight on, but knowing that life is life.Quote:

Yeah, of course.
We've all had experiences of feeling more at peace with our surroundings and feeling that life is just life. So for me Zazen is a process of remembering this. So i can start afresh each time I sit. And the more I sit the more familiar it becomes...
anyway, yeh, I agree, thinking it is not the same as knowing it.
But I do know it's uncommonly scorching here in London :P
